ICAT worked with Sri Lanka to improve transparency in the transport sector, strengthening and digitized the MRV system for transport and enhancing institutional arrangements and legal frameworks for data sharing for NDC implementation. It also resulted in recommendations for an NDC revision covering the energy and waste sector and assessed the sustainable development co-benefits of mitigation actions.
Digitize transport sector GHG MRV system, revise NDCs in energy and waste sectors and design a roadmap to develop a legal framework for data sharing to measure and report in the context of achieving NDCs.
Strengthen the MRV framework for the transport sector including aspects related to institutional arrangements, legal frameworks, and policies monitoring methodologies and procedures.
