ICAT has been supporting Panama to strengthen the Monitoring and Evaluation System for adaptation in Panama. This involved the gathering of indicators related to losses and damages caused by climate change. Additionally, the project enhanced capacities, developed communication materials and provide guidance to support the effective monitoring and evaluation of adaptation measures in Panama. Currently, Panama is working with ICAT develop tools and technical documents for decision making at the national level, and analyze the impact of economic and non-economic losses.

Objectives:

Strengthen the Monitoring and Evaluation system for adaptation to climate change in Panama, through the development of tools and technical documents for decision making at the national level, and analyze the impact of economic and non-economic losses.

  • Developing an action plan for Panama’s climate change monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems
  • Conducting a diagnostic on economic and non-economic losses and damages related to climate change and developing the associated data collection methodology.
  • Strengthening Panama’s M&E platform and creating communication materials.
