The project aims to enhance the capacities of institutions responsible for collecting and providing activity data in the agriculture, LULUCF,  industrial processes, waste management, and energy sectors. By focusing on methodologies for data collection and management, the project intends to improve the quality and reliability of information reported in the national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory system (SINGEI). It is also support the reporting process in accordance with the guidelines of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Biennial update reports

Objectives

Strengthen the capacities of the institutions that collect and provide information of activity data on methodologies for data collection and data management in the sectors agriculture, LULUCF, industrial processes, waste management and energy. This will lead to improving the quality and reliability of the information reported in the national GHG inventory system (SINGEI). Support the reporting process in accordance with the guidelines of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

  1. Data collection and data management methodologies and procedures for the following sectors: agriculture, industrial processes (for the category of ‘mineral products’), waste management sector and energy (for the subcategory of fuel combustion within ‘manufacturing industries and construction’).
  2. Creation of capacities and sustainable knowledge transfer for stakeholders involved in generation of activity data in the usage of the methodologies for data collection and data management in the sectors: agriculture, industrial processes (for the category of ‘mineral products’), waste management sector and energy (for the subcategory of fuel combustion within ‘manufacturing industries and construction’).
  3. Proposal of a technical standard for data collection and data management, including appropriate procedures and methodologies.
  4. Integrate the LULUCF sector to the national GHG inventory system.
  5. Preparation of reporting tools for Article 6 (paragraphs 2, 4 and 8) to facilitate periodic preparation of the national inventory and submission of the first BTR.
  6. Communication material related to carbon market and non-market approaches.
