In Indonesia, a pilot assessment of ICAT’s Transport Pricing Methodology was applied to selected policies to better understand their impact on greenhouse gas emissions from the road transport sector.

Objectives

Assess the impact of three transport pricing policies in Indonesia on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using the ICAT Transport Pricing Methodology.

  • Apply the ICAT Transport Pricing Methodology to measure the impact of  Indonesia’s fuel pricing policy, a proposed electric vehicle policy and a Low-Cost Green Car policy.
  • Based on the assessment, propose a number of recommendations for the Government of Indonesia to help meet the emissions reduction targets of its 2016 NDCs.
  • Provide feedback on the applied methodology based on the assessment.
