With the way countries report on adaptation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) set to change, a new guide (and webinar) published by ICAT and UNEP DTU Partnership provides technical experts responsible for producing the adaptation section of their country’s Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) with a practical and easy-to-follow interpretation.
The webinar provides viewers with an understanding of what national reporting of adaptation will look like in the BTR and how the introduction of this new UNFCCC report will change how countries report on adaptation going forward.
Specifically, the panel of speakers discussed how the BTR fits into the UNFCCC’s landscape of planning and reporting instruments, what its role in this landscape is, and what information related to adaptation countries are expected to include in their BTR reports. As not all questions raised during the webinar could be answered during the Q&A session, the answers to those outstanding questions can be found here.
