Webinar, October 25, 9 am EDT: Measuring Non-State & Subnational Climate Action: Aggregation and Integration

12 October 2018

Please join us on Thursday, October 25, 9-10 am (EDT) for a webinar on “Measuring Non-State & Subnational Climate Action: Aggregation and Integration.”

States, regions, cities, businesses, investors, and citizens around the world are taking ambitious climate action – delivering real results on the ground that save money, create jobs, make us healthier and reduce emissions. Climate action from these actors has a notable impact on reducing global emissions and enables national governments to successfully implement their climate plans, strengthen their ambition and update their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) accordingly.

To help map this groundswell of climate action and assess its future impact – as part of the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) – WRI, NewClimate Institute, CDP, and The Climate Group have developed the “Guidance for integrating the impact of non-state and subnational mitigation actions into national greenhouse gas projects, targets and planning”.

In this webinar, we will discuss how the ICAT guidance can assist national policymakers and analysts with a robust methodology for determining the potential impact of non-state and subnational climate actions – including examples from countries.

Presenters:
Katharina Lütkehermöller, Climate Policy Analyst, NewClimate Institute
Ashwini Hingne, Senior Project Associate, WRI India
Tom Cyrs, Research Analyst, WRI

This webinar is part of a series that WRI’s Tracking and Strengthening Climate Action (TASCA) initiative is hosting together with the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA).
