The Initiative for Climate Action Transparency, in collaboration with the World Resources Institute, is holding a webinar to explore the topic of monitoring just transitions and present the ICAT Just Transitions Monitoring Guide.
Just transitions monitoring frameworks enable countries to use data to ensure that climate policies and measures are implemented in a just and inclusive manner. This helps avoid climate action exacerbating existing social and economic inequalities as countries transition to low-carbon and climate-resilient economies.
The webinar will provide an opportunity for country representatives from developing countries, including Brazil, Nigeria, and South Africa, to share their experiences in building national just transition monitoring frameworks. Climate experts will explain the uses and features of the ICAT Just Transitions Monitoring Guide, developed with the support of WRI. The audience will have a chance to ask questions and gain valuable insights.
When: 24 April 2025
Time: 15.00-16.30 CEST
The webinar will be held in English.
The ICAT Just Transitions Monitoring Guide provides guidance for monitoring and analyzing social, economic, and environmental changes that may occur as countries implement policies to transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient future. The guide provides a step-by-step approach to supporting the development of a monitoring framework that will enable governments to track the status of a just transition.
