This webinar is part of the ICAT webinar series Advancing climate action transparency in Latin America and the Caribbean which, designed for Spanish-speaking specialists and the public sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, explores the impacts, results, and methodologies being developed the work programme of ICAT (Initiative for Climate Action Transparency). This webinar will present the modelling tool GACMO (Greenhouse gas Abatement Cost MOdel), developed by the UNEP-DTU Partnership, and how it evaluates mitigation actions and their associated costs at the national or sub-national level. In particular, it will focus on how GACMO can be used to support the preparation of nationally determined contributions (NDCs). Additionally, the webinar will look at possibilities for collaboration regarding the implementation of GACMO on a larger scale in countries who need tools for the rapid assessment of their mitigation actions in order to increase the ambition of their international climate commitments.

En el evento “GACMO como herramienta para establecer escenarios de mitigación”, presentaremos la herramienta de modelación GACMO (Greenhouse gas Abatement Cost Model) desarrollada por el UNEP-DTU Partnership y que evalúa acciones de mitigación y su costo asociado a nivel nacional o subnacional, siendo utilizado para apoyar la preparación de las NDC.
