On Friday, 21 June, the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) coorganized a side event at the UNFCCC SB50 in Bonn together with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia; the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Germany; the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement; and the Information Matters Project which is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
The title of the event was “Enhancing transparency around NDCs for benefits beyond reporting: Benefits of climate reporting beyond meeting international reporting requirements.”
Event Description: Building effective national transparency systems is fundamental to support NDC implementation and enhancement. This event provided a platform for exchanging experiences from developing countries with the development and implementation of transparency systems to comply with international reporting requirements while addressing national priorities. The event presented results achieved and lessons learnt by countries supported under the IKI- funded project Information Matters and the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT). The event further provided an opportunity to discuss future capacity needs.
