ICAT Spotlight 4 out now

5 January 2023

ICAT has published the 4th edition of the ICAT Spotlight, a quarterly newsletter that puts a spotlight on a particular aspect of transparency through a variety of content, ranging from a feature story and recent developments in country projects, to new resources in the ICAT Toolbox and events from across ICAT’s global network of partners.

In its fourth edition, the ICAT Spotlight highlights the value of peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge exchange. It kicks off with an article on the Regional Climate Action Transparency Hubs in Central Africa and Central Asia. By the end of 2022, both had begun their work to build local capacity and share knowledge within their respective regions.

2022 saw the ICAT Community Meetings in September in Copenhagen, where over 90 participants, including representatives from some 25 ICAT countries came together to exchange experience on specific topics and discuss emerging tools and methodologies that will support further work. The full report in this edition of Spotlight is a highly recommended read.

The year also ended with the climate transparency community coming together at COP27, further cementing the value of transparency. Together with our partners, ICAT co-hosted and presented at multiple sessions, all focused on different aspects of using transparency to advance NDC implementation. A summary of these is provided in this edition of ICAT spotlight.

Building on the success of ICAT’s country projects, ICAT is pleased to call for expressions of interest from potential new partner countries to join the Initiative. We look forward to receiving many expressions of interest by 15 January 2023. Please forward this information to your contacts.

This ICAT Spotlight also includes the announcement of the virtual ICAT Partner Forum (save the date!) and an exciting blended training course in French on Climate Transparency and the ETF.
