We invite you to review and provide feedback on the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency’s (ICAT) June 2019 version of the series of guidance documents. The documents have been through multiple rounds of review, and this is the final round of consultation before publication of the series. This public consultation period is open for 30 days, from 11 June to 10 July.

ICAT aims to support transparent and effective reporting on the impacts of climate policies and actions. One component of this work is our series of guidance documents. The guidance documents provide methods focused on helping users assess the impacts of policies and actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, achieve sustainable development outcomes and drive transformational change.
The May 2018 versions of the ICAT series of guidance documents were applied by ICAT-participating countries and other non-state actors to ensure they could be practically implemented. Feedback from these experiences informed the updated June 2019 versions of the guidance documents, which also include case studies from those applications. The revision summary, which can be accessed here, explains the changes made to the May 2018 versions of the guidance documents in the context of feedback received from users.
Your comments will help ensure that the guidance documents are clear and meet country needs. Reviewers are encouraged to provide feedback on any or all of the guidance documents relevant to their needs and/or experience.
Guidance documents open for review are: Introductory Guide, Renewable Energy Methodology, Transport Pricing Methodology, Forest Methodology, Sustainable Development Methodology, Transformational Change Methodology, Non-State and Subnational Action Guide, Stakeholder Participation Guide, and Technical Review Guide.
Templates open for review are: Sustainable Development Assessment Template, Transformational Change Assessment Template, Transformational Change Reporting Template, and Non-State and Subnational Action Assessment Template.
Please visit our website to submit your comments or to learn more about the consultation. You can access PDF versions of the guidance documents and Word versions of the templates, and provide comments by filling out a comment template to submit via email by 10 July.
