Call for Proposals: Technical support to increase the overall transparency capacities in developing countries

The Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) is seeking proposals to provide technical support and capacity building to developing countries with the aim of equipping the countries with the capacity to effectively assess the impacts of their climate policies and actions and fulfil their transparency commitments under international frameworks, in particular the Enhanced Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement.

The technical support will be provided within the framework of the ICAT Strategic Approach and until the end of 2025. The foreseen technical support will be implemented under ICAT’s overall country engagement approach covering up to 16 new partner countries; deepened engagement in some of the over 40 countries with which ICAT is already working; and setting up and running a climate action transparency hub in a sub-region in Africa.

Below are the categories of grants that interested organisations/institutions can apply for:

  1. Grant to support new ICAT partner countries
  2. Grant to deepen engagement in (already engaged) ICAT partner countries with ongoing support projects (including a second phase for new partner countries supported under category 1
  3. Grant to provide technical support to the regional climate action transparency hub for the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) Member States.
